| Matthew Roberts, Pastor
Matt was called as Pastor of Pantops Community Church in August of 2023. Previously, he served as the Associate Pastor for Faith Formation at First Baptist Church of Marion, North Carolina. During his time in North Carolina, Matt served with multiple teams at CBFNC, the Western North Carolina Baptist Fellowship, local non-profit organizations and was part of the inaugural cohort of CBF Fellows. He is a graduate of Baptist Theological Seminary at Richmond (Master of Divinity) and Old Dominion University (Bachelor of Arts - History). He is married to Emily and they have a daughter, Chloe, along with two dogs and two cats. He enjoys fishing, cooking, and playing guitar.

Margarete Gillette, Associate Pastor

| Margarete was called as Minister to Children, Youth and Families in 1999 after four years volunteering as Minister to Youth. In 2006, she assumed the newly created position of Minister to Senior Adults and in 2008 was named Associate Pastor. She was ordained to the Gospel ministry in September 2000. Margarete has a passion for creating a faith community that encourages, nurtures and supports people wherever they are in their journey of faith and their walk through life. She has a B.A. in History, Furman University and a Masters in Religious Education from Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. She retired from her position with Jefferson Madison Regional Library in June 2021, but continues to work as a reference substitute. She and her husband, Tom, are the parents of three adult children. Her outside of work interests are spending time with her children and their families, reading, walking, and travel.

Lindsay Hawn, Music Director

| Lindsay Hawn received a B.A. in Psychology/Music Education from Mary Baldwin College. She has taught music in public schools and worked as Director of Music at three other churches. She joined the staff at Broadus Memorial in June 2015. In her spare time, she enjoys being a mom to her two sons, Liam and Connor.

Lorie Ulery, Administrative Assistant

| Lorie has been with the church since 1988. Hers is the friendly voice you’ll hear when you call the church. She takes care of scheduling and keeps the staff running. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her husband, Joe and likes to play piano, cross stitch, and hike. She is the mother of two adult daughters.

Emiko Rugumayo, Accompanist

| Emiko grew up in Yokohama, Japan. She began piano lessons at the age of four and continued piano and organ lessons through college. She moved to Charlottesville in 1998 after receiving her bachelor's degree from Houghton College. She has participated in many choirs, both as a singer and accompanist in Japan and the United States. She is a social worker by profession, and she is married with three children.
